Are you discouraged by minimal public exposure to your precious state publications? Throw out the rules, create new tools, and offer free decals and brochures. Come find out how Montana is making it easier than ever for libraries to become depositories.

Presentation bullets.
• In January 2007 the state legislature passed HB132 which modernized the laws governing our depository library program.
• For the first time in 40 years the definition of a state publication was updated to include all formats. These changes in turn led us to examine the Administrative Rules of Montana that implement the law.
• Successfully repealed ARM.
• In turn, we had to revise our depository library contracts.
• Created a print/digital blend and a separate digital only depository library contract.
• Interestingly 15 of the 17 chose to remain as print/digital
• Take our campaign to federation meetings and state library meetings.
• Want to set up more online information about how to become a digital depository (put decal, brochures, contract online)
• Show the download MARC records site.

Bring to presentation:
• Digital depository poster
• Decals
• Brochures
• New Digital Depository Library Contract
• Press Release for New Digital Depositories
• Copies of the old Administrative Rules of Montana
• Pictures on Flickr
