Public Transit
Albany offers the Capital District Transit Authority (CDTA) bus lines, with service from the Albany International Airport to the City of Albany seven days per week. The CDTA also offers numerous routes within the city of Albany. Cash fares are $1.50 per person, with day passes available for $4.00.

By Bus
Adirondack Trailways and Greyhound Bus serve New York State with express and local buses. The Albany Bus Terminal, located at 34 Hamilton Street, Albany, NY 12207, is the shared hub for both Trailways and Greyhound, and is open 24 hours each day. Exit Airport, turn left at light. Follow signs to 87 South and turn right onto 87 S. Stay in left lane, follow signs to Route 20 Western Ave, approximately 4 miles. Continue to very end. Turn left onto Western Avenue. Hotel is a half mile down on the right.
Directions from Rensselaer-Albany Amtrak Station to Holiday Inn Express Western Avenue:
Follow signs to Route 90. Take 90 West to Exit 1S, Western Avenue. At end of exit turn left onto Western Avenue. Hotel is a half mile down on the right.

From the South:
I-87 (Thruway) to Exit 24 (second Albany exit); I-90 East to Exit 2. Proceed across Washington Avenue onto the campus. When you enter the campus, turn left on University Drive. Proceed right at Collins Circle to Visitors’ Parking Lot.
From the West:
I-90 (Thruway) to Exit 24 (left exit); I-90 East to Exit 2. When you enter the campus, turn left on University Drive. Proceed right at Collins Circle to Visitors’ Parking Lot.
From the North:
I-87 (Northway) to Exit 1; I-90 East to Exit 2; cross Washington Avenue onto campus and turn left; you are now on University Drive. Proceed right at Collins Circle to Visitors’ Parking Lot.
From the East:
I-90 West to Exit 2; left onto Fuller Road, then left onto Washington Avenue. At traffic light turn right onto the campus. When you enter the campus, turn left on University Drive. Proceed right at Collins circle to Visitors’ Parking Lot.
From Albany International Airport:
Exit the airport onto Albany-Shaker Rd.; follow signs to I-87; turn right onto I-87 South; I-87 to Exit 1; I-90 East to Exit 2; cross Washington Avenue onto the campus. When you enter the campus, turn left on University Drive. Proceed right at Collins Circle to Visitors’ Parking Lot.
The Science Library is located on the south side of the academic podium between the Campus Center and the athletic fields. A parking lot for visitors is available from University Drive East in Indian Quad (Parking Lot 2).
Visitor parking is $5.00.

The Rensselaer – Albany, NY (ALB) Amtrak station, which is located in the city of Rensselaer, is a short ten-minute drive to/from the city of Albany.
